Concrete Cells (2022)
Concrete Cells is inspired by a photo of a cell located in a newly built prison next to my school. This work is a narrative exploration of the feeling of being incarcerated inside of this specific cell, which is completely constructed of concrete. Balancing moments in which the incarcerated person retrieves to their own imagined world with interruptive accents in which the subject realises their missing freedom, this piece creates general uncertainty and disorientation.
